Mould-Making Silicone

After buying a Silicone mould-making kit, I decided to make a mould which could then be used to cast plaster of paris etc. in the form of crochet.

Ingredients are mixed: 100:5 Base Silicone:Catalyst, then poured over prepared the model. (I chose to create my mould in an unused plastic container). After 24 hours the silicone should be set, and the original model (crochet) removed from the mould.
However, as the crochet is fibrous therefore highly absorbent, the silicone penetrated deep into the form of the crochet. This made removing the crochet difficult - however I liked the appearance of the silicone inhibiting the yarns so I decided against removing the original and left it as it is.
