subject area – Using new and experimental ideas, methods, ways of thinking,

Approaching already existent subject matter from a
new perspective, thinking outside the box, being different.

PERCEPTIONS
|
The pre-conceived recognition, awareness and
understanding of a subject. These are unique to the viewer and their individual
opinion(s).

MATERIALITY
|
The nature and quality of a material; its uses and
properties, and the subsequent perceptions of the substance/matter.

DE-CONTEXTUALISING
|
Presenting the subject matter out of context;
either through misusing, questioning, or removing from the situation.

TACTILE
|
Perceptible to touch. The form, texture or medium
is inviting to feel (pleasing, interesting or unusual experience).

CONTEXTUAL REFERENCES
|
A collection of imagery providing insight to the
potential use of my work in a live situation.

ETHEREAL
|
Intangible, "Highly refined; delicate", Heavenly, blurring realities.

GELATINOUS
|
Consisting of or resembling jelly; viscous
|
LONG EXPOSURE
|
Photography method which leaves the shutter of the camer open for long periods of time, often causing motion blurr or movement.
|
DRAWING WITH THREAD
|
Using threads or yarns as a drawing tool, mapping out shapes and forms in the way that a pencil or pen would.
|
SURFACE DESIGN
|
The design of texture, form, pattern or design for the intention of being used as it is - within the context of a surface (i.e. tabletop).

CLEAR - ON - CLEAR |
Subtle use of mark making and texture, where neither the mark nor the substrate is completely opaque.

TANGIBLE
|
Perceptible to touch. See Tactile
