Setting thread in ice:
Left: Glass filled and frozen in sections with thread added at each stage.
Right: Glass filled completely and thread added before frozen in one go.
After the ice melted the thread stayed in position,
suspended in the water opposed to floating/sinking.
Results: As an initial sample, I think that this was rather successful. The appearance of the thread being 'suspended' was what I wanted to achieve, however the ice froze in an unpredictable way; cracking, clouding and frosting over in parts.
